The First Status Update!

 I have a little over a month’s worth of Blogger experience now. Seems like a pretty good time to have one. 

Gonna complain about my phone issues first:

Sometime around creating this blog, my charging cable completely clunked out. The barbs had already sunk into the micro port a while ago and now it won’t interact with the phone no matter how I try to adjust it. 😞 I moved on to an off-brand cord that was originally intended for my Switch controller (which no longer works because it fell and hit a dresser drawer on the way down 🤦🏾‍♀️) and that seemed to be working well...at first. 

Before my issues arose, I noticed that my phone’s charge percent would show up inaccurately from time to time, but the longer I started using this cord, the more ridiculous it got. That thing started going backwards. One time, it went from like 75%, to 25%, all the way down to zero...and then up to 30 something! The phone didn’t even correct itself when I turned it on during these weird moments. If it claimed to be at zero, even when the number was previously higher than that, it would turn back off!  I...what???

After getting tired of that, I reverted back to an older micro cord that came with my phone when it was purchased. While the wire still needs to be positioned in a certain way for the phone to charge, it managed to make it to 100% the next morning. And the barbs are working so well, the cord can’t be easily yanked out.

Problem solved? Heh, heh, not quite.

I stopped using that cord in the first place because it was becoming too risky; the darn thing’s trying to fall apart on both ends. I had to wrap it with electrical tape to keep it from getting worse. I had to tape a third time after using it because now, it’s threatening to tear in the middle! 😵

The cord that clunked out on me went to the charger I was trying to replace this one with and now I’m back to square one. 😐

So...yeah, I’m currently stuck between buying a better version of my worn charger, seeing if it’s my phone’s charging port that needs to be fixed or getting a new phone entirely. I really want to do the former, but I don’t want to buy a new, working charger only to find out my phone is still, pretty much having the same problem. 🤷🏾‍♀️

Anyways, on to other update-y stuff:

I knew Blogger was quiet, but man, is it! It’s not that big of a deal since I wanted a quieter place in comparison to the usual, but like, ha, I’m not used to this. 😂 I almost thought I forgot to allow my blog to be found on search engines. Honestly not sure what I expected when I’ve hardly promoted this blog and haven't scouted out others to follow. 😶 I kinda do want to promote it more, but at the same time, I kinda want it to remain a “if you find it, you find it" surprise type of thing….lmayo, I’ll work something out.

I definitely have a better feel for how Blogger works now and...it just makes me miss the  functionality of Tumblr. ┐(´ー｀)┌ When I’m duplicating something I posted from over there, I like how I can copy a full set of my gifs as if they’re one cohesive gif, but formatting another gif from outside of that set is a pain. And ugh, I have to create a page break image for that entry or else it goes to whatever appears below the set. 🙄 If a single gif is posted first ahead of everything else, it doesn’t play; it stay stuck on one frame until it’s opened....REALLY don’t like that.

I don’t like how my own views to my posts count as page views either, it makes it harder to tell if others are looking at my content...though that’s probably a common issue with other sites too. And because of certain things I’m not very fond of, I might not be able to convert that other idea I had for a website...maybe I’m say this too soon, (I just figured out how to hide dates on my entries after thinking I couldn’t and how much that would annoy me) but right now, it seems like finding another host would be better with what I'm trying to accomplish. Until I can afford a payment plan, I might still use Blogger as a temporary site for the idea or a backup.*

I previously noted that Instagram made desktop posting available not too long after making this blog. We still can’t use stories in a similar way (maybe that's next?) so I’m undoubtedly going to continue to use this blog for posting things I would have normally posted through there. I really want to keep the feed posting art focused.

Lastly, I think I'm gonna post art spoilers to this blog where I give you readers an idea of what I’m working on next. I may even go further in-depth with some of my art descriptions to things I’ve posted elsewhere. I’ll probably post things on here that I'm not ready to post anywhere else yet. Or at all. Those will be Blogger Exclusives.

• Project 8-16-21 is probably biggest thing I've worked on in a while. It feels like I won't have it done until next year.

• Hint: Don't get your hopes up too high, you’ve kind of already seen it, but not quite like this

• I finished those reference sheets I was complaining about last month, haha oh boy...you should start seeing something from that before the year is over...if not, then January. ｡◕‿‿◕｡

• Hint: somebody might actually get mad at me for this uh-oh yikes whoopsie too bad 🤷🏾‍♀️😂

• There's a bittersweet date coming up this month that I feel tempted to post something for and already started the groundwork for, but I'm probably not going to get it done in time.😓 There's a bigger element I wanted to add anyway, so it might be better to delay it until I have that situated.

• Hint: It's a remake of something I've never posted to my Fangirl K-Tee IG account. If you've known me prior to this username, there's a good chance you've already see the original.

• Not-So-Random Stray Hint: *Sounds a lot like I need a source of income to help pay for these issues I'm facing...🤔
